You wouldn't want to listen to a crazy b**ch rambles on how she suffered from terrible PMS, so let's get right down to business.
How I fight against PMS - "Medicated" sanitary pad, black sugar ginger tea, pain killer and chocolate
This is not normal sanitary pad, this is a sanitary pad with Korean herbal medicine AND a warmer. I got this on my trip to Seoul, Korea last year. They were displayed on the "Best Sellers" section in the super market and each and every female Japanese tourist got several in her cart, no joke!
Here's how it works: you stick the warmer underneath the sanitary pad, and the herbs inside the sanitary pad are diffused by heat, and it helps relieving pain. I am not sure if the herbs really work, but the heat really makes me feel more comfortable.
Black sugar and ginger, in Chinese medicine, are known for helping blood circulation, which in turns relieve any PMS symptoms.
I started drinking this black sugar ginger tea during period several months ago and it works wonder! It's very easy to make, takes less than 5 minutes.
Put some chopped ginger (aged ginger) into a cup of hot water, let it shimmer for half a hour. Then add black sugar (I used muscovado sugar) according to your liking.
Chocolate, my all time favorite comfort food during PMS. On the other hand, pain killer is my absolutely last resort, I only take it when there is something very important. Otherwise, I stay away from it at all costs.
Are you in the PMS club? How do you deal with this monster?
